I’d Sell My Soul
I’d Sell My Soul
Music and Lyrics by Charles Chaplin
This a cappella track is from the scene in A King in New York where King Shadov (Chaplin) hears a woman (Dawn Addams) singing in the bathroom next door. He comes to her rescue when she shouts for help. The lyrics were actually sung by vocalist Shirley Norman.
I’d sell my soul for love / If I could find true love
There’s nothing in the world / I wouldn’t do
I’d commit every sin / If I could win
Someone that’s tender and true
Like Faust I’d sign away my soul
If I could say / I’d found the one
The only one / To love, to love
I’d sell my soul for love
